Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated R&D Scientist with expertise in Biomaterials Development, particularly in the area of click- and photocrosslinkable hydrogels. The successful candidate will play a vital role in our research and development efforts, contributing to the creation and optimization of innovative materials and technologies.
Responsibilities:
Biomaterials Development: Lead the development and characterization of photo- and click-crosslinkable hydrogels and other biomaterials, aligning with Gelomics' objectives and quality standards.
Cell Culture and Analysis: Conduct 3D cell culture experiments and utilize advanced analysis methods, including mechanical testing and rheology.
Research Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and quality assurance, to ensure cohesive product development.
Innovation and Problem-Solving: Apply innovative thinking and scientific expertise to solve complex problems and drive continuous improvement.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain comprehensive research documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Technology Transfer: Facilitate the transfer of developed technologies to production, ensuring scalability and manufacturability.
Skills and Qualifications:
PhD in Biomaterials Development, Bioengineering, Tissue Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive demonstrated experience with biomaterials development, synthesis, purification, assessment, and application, particularly relating to click- or photocrosslinkable hydrogels.
Proficiency in cell culture techniques and analysis methods.
Experience with mechanical testing and rheology preferred.
Demonstrated track record of high-quality research outputs.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Location and Work Authorization Requirements:
The candidate must be based in, or willing to relocate to, Brisbane, Australia, or nearby areas.
The candidate must possess full working rights in Australia.
